Allagash Wilderness Waterway Residency

In August, 2025, I spent 2 weeks in the Allagash Wilderness Waterway, a remote area in northern Maine rich in history and wildlife. I stayed in a cabin at Lock Dam, a Dam between Chamberlain Lake and Eagle Lake. I spent my time observing wildlife, coming face to face with moose, hanging out with migrating birds, and sleeping among the mice and red squirrels that took shelter in my cabin. I explored much of the Allagash and learning about its history thanks to the wonderful park rangers that made my stay so special. The paintings created during this experience are mostly en plein air, and several from images I took during my stay and painted on the cabin porch.
